Ujisato studied his opponent carefully, seconds became minutes, minutes felt like hours...then lunging forward, raising the staff above his head, he then brought it down hard upon the veteran.
OC: This is my first duel btw...

(Not like I'm any better...)
The captain smiled before he lifted his staff with both hands took a swift step forward with his right foot and swung his waist across, putting his entire body weight into forcing Gamo's staff away to the left. The two staves collided and the captain pushed up his staff with his back hand, trying to smash the end of the shaft into Gamo's left cheek. Then, he would pull the staff back and try to smash the staff against Gamo's right side before jumping away.

Ujisato brought up his staff and deflected the captain's strike at his cheek, then felt the staff bite into his side as he swiftly brought his staff down on the arms of his opponent as he struck him, then he pulled his staff back and thrusted his staff forward into the gut of the captain.

The captain winced once Gamo's blow sank into his upper arm, but managed to back off and jump when Gamo pulled back. The captain made sure to keep his distance before lunging out with his right arm towards Gamo's chin while taking a step forward with his right foot, keeping away from Gamo with the increased range while still managing to be close enough for a blow, albeit not a debilitating one. Then, he would quickly pull his staff back and roll off to the left, then would ready himself as quickly as possible into a defensive stance.

Ujisato pulled back his head just in time to avoid the blow to his chin, and took a non-debilitating blow somewhere upon his person, then immediately lunged toward the captain's new position, and using his body as a battering ram, collided with the captain in his defensive stance, sending him sprawling backwards, temporarily defenseless, and once again thrust his staff forward into the gut of the captain, then rushed forward, with his staff held across his body in a defensive fashion, to further incapacitate his opponent.

"That's enough!"
Ujiyasu clapped his hands together and nodded approvingly. Ujisato was over the captain and was moving in for the death blow, but now both fighters had ceased the fighting. Ujiyasu got himself onto his feet and walked over to the two on the mat, where Suzuki had gotten to his feet with Gamo's help.
"That was wonderful. You've assured me of your prowess, Gamo. I am honored to welcome you into my service."

Ujisato smiled and said,"I am honored beyond words my lord, I will fight for you to the death. I will not rest until all of Nippon is under your rule lord Ujiyasu."

Ujiyasu returned the smile and nodded. "Your words are high praise. We'll see how they hold in the future." Ujiyasu turned to the captain who was beginning to nurse his arm. "Captain, you and your unit is dismissed for the day. Fine work."
"It was an honor, my lord." The captain shouted turned away and shouted to his men. "File out! Dismissed!"
"Very good..." Satisfied with the events of the day, Ujiyasu faced Gamo Ujisato again. "You are dismissed as well. The man that showed you to the waiting room will provide you with quarters inside the castle. Rest well, Gamo. Tomorrow, you will be provided with rank."

Thank you my lord. I hope to prove my worth to you on the battlefield soon. I've heard rumors of the Sanada bolstering their forces for a possible invasion...but then again, this could all be rumor and speculation...at any rate, I will see you in the morning my lord.Ujisato turned and went to find the man to help him find his quarters.

"Right this way, milord."
The man led Gamo Ujisato down towards another hall, opening into an open expanse with a few sliding doors. Ujisato was led towards a fairly large room, the floor covered with tatami mats and a bed in the corner. The accommodations were kept relatively simple. Ujiyasu didn't expect the man to stay in the castle for long.
"You will be given a more prestigious estate in the province in short time," the man explained. "Sleep well, milord." With that, the guard bowed and walked down the stairs.

Ujisato pulled out a copy of Sun Tzu's Art of War, and pulled a candle close to study for a bit before sleep took him.
