Masaki was impressed with the man's valor, but at this point, continuing the fight would be pointless. His opponent was cur badly and bleeding on the arms. Perhaps he could stop the bleeding, perhaps not. Other way, Masaki had the advantage in this fight now. His opponent was wounded, and he was not about to let up just so that he would loose due to overconfidence. He never stopped giving his all until his opponent had either died or surrendered. It wasn't just a matter of money. It was a matter of pride, pride as a warrior and a swordsman. Losing now would disgrace his name.
Deciding that jumping into the river from the bridge like his opponent did to be foolish, Masaki calmly walked around the bridge to the side of the bank, his sword grasped firmly in his right hand, his scabbard in his left. Although he took no formal stance to speak of, his body was tensed and ready to spring into action at any time as he stopped at the river's bank, about ten feet away from his opponent. He stood on guard, ready of his opponent tried rushing him. His steel eyes glared at the wounded daimyo from underneath his helmet, daring him to make a move. Masaki was confident he could counter.
"You should quit while you still have your head. Or perhaps you seek death?"

The scene did seem rather pitiful for Suehiro, he was bleeding probably wouldn't last another hour before blacking out. The night was almost ending and the lanterns lost their gentle glow. The moon was setting and the night was at it's darkest. His Katana was with him, his smaller one as well. He tore a peace of his sleave off and wrapped it around his arm to stop the bleeding. It was tight enough to almost block out the pain of the laceration.
"I'm not ready to concede defeat yet, why don't you, surely there is some pity in your heart? To pick on a wounded man?"
Suehiro had no intention of accepting such pity but the thought crossed his mind, his daze ended, though it would be best to have it now it is lost. Thoughts raced through his head about his death or any number of things. With his time coming quickly to an end, as the night also arrives at the same destination he will be lucky to see the sunrise, however with the bleeding almost stopped there is a chance that he can retain consciousness for a long time yet, maybe not blacking out at all.
Careful to protect his wounded arm he made a near caste for it also from his sleeve. Now that his kimono has nearly been mutilated his wounded arm is suspended. It would be a disadvantage to fight with such an arm, but the elevation should also stop the blood loss had it been hanging. He held onto his Katana with one hand and placed it over his shoulder.
"Don't you wish to finish me off? Come at me."

Masaki had to withold a bout of laughter. Pity? He did not pity the man. He only pitied those who could not help their predicaments. This incident was of Suehiro's own doing as much as it was Masaki's. He had accepted the duel knowing that risk of death would present itself in this match. A samurai always had to be prepared for such an event, for death itself was part of their lives, whether it be dealing in death or being dealt a killing blow. If Suehiro thought that Masaki pitied him, he was sorely mistaken. Masaki's lack of remorse would show in his next action as well.
While Sueohiro was attempting to make his custom sling, Masaki suddenly sprung forward while the daimyo's hands were occupied with his task. Grasping his sword's hilt with both hands as he did so, Masaki cleaved downwards as hard and as fast as he could, aiming for the man's torso. The wounded samurai should have known better then to attempt and staunch his bleeding while Masaki was only a few feet in front of him, ready to strike at a moments notice. Surrender would have been a better choice for the robed warlord, but it seemed he lacked the common sense to use his reason. He would pay for such an act with his life, dead by Masaki's sword.

Um... one question, if you knew of the question the bleeding would have already been stopped and there would be time for a counter, or at least to notice and run away... But it's too late to complain now isn't it? Good one BW.

You made a wrap, then you made a comment. It was after THAT that you decided to try and make a sling. That's when I struck.

It's been a long while for this one. I'd say Scholar loses and coughs up the 200 gold.

You made a wrap, then you made a comment. It was after THAT that you decided to try and make a sling. That's when I struck. Therefor I lost and you win. You struck me. As you said I was occupied with the task and you were a few feet away from me. If anything I could make a stab but with one could arm I'm dead anyways. Therefore you win. I already subtracted the gold! If you want a rematch I would gladly consent I just thought that we both understood it was over in April after you answered my question. I am sorry for any confusion I may have caused you.
