Okay, you may need to know a few things Scholar for future duels. It is no allowed to god-mod (this is when you defy the laws of gravity, you break realism or you just pretend to be bigger and better then what you really are. Limit yourself to actions of a human being, get tired..its natural and realistic).
The second big rule is Auto-Hitting. Now auto-hitting isn't ever truly allowed, although it is considered acceptable if the attack under logical reasoning cannot be defended, if you walk into a spear then the attacker (with the spear) has every right to allow the action to commence. It is not acceptable to auto-hit if there is a possibility of a dodge, the hit must hit for you to auto-hit it, so its very rare to do it and its usually when you trap your opponents. if you duelled me and fell for my 2 post trick you'd be killed on the 2nd post by an auto-hit because it is physically impossible to avoid.
Now, some tricks or things to remember. Unless you state the specifications of your weapon - it goes by history, if your bio says your katana is 20 feet it's 20 feet. You go by the specs of your weapon first and then whatever is agreed upon via the duel conditions. If you'd stated your katana was 4 feet in length (blade wise) in your profile or if you said you're using 'your' katana, then Sanada would have no right to alter your measurements. This is historical but only an idiot would expect everyone to know the differences between these weapons.
Also, I'm going to give you a good hint of advice, STOP with your emotional text writing in a duel, it is utterly meaningless. You do a series of actions in a single round, its bad, 1 round should last in real time like a few seconds tops, a duel is swift and fast, the more you do in a single round the less descriptive you'll make it I.E the easier it'll be to find flaws/kill you.
A duel isn't about how well you write, your personal emotions and feelings will only take up time and length that could be used to make sure everything you need to state is stated. You must be specific in all of your actions. This is how our community duels - People like me, lyle, justin, brian .. heck i'm sure you'll duel us all and you'll probably see a pattern in how we get mega descriptive. I'm also a manipulator, so the less you write the easier it is to exploit.
This is just general advice. Sanda is a history guy, so he naturally goes by specifications of what he knows historically. Just be more specific, add more detail - stop with the utterly useless stuff until AFTER you've written your description and remember just the 2 rules, god-modding and auto-hitting.
