An issue has come up to me regarding a standard in the grammatical tenses used. At Fires of War, I would ask that you write in the present perfect tense, though most past tenses will work fine. Also make sure you are using third person limited narrative.
These words might be difficult to understand, so I'll make it more clear by giving some examples for the tenses. As for the narative, describe it as though you're watching the person from the outside, but you know all of their thoughts (just your character though).
The only time first person should be used is in speech.
Present Perfect Tense Example
I have gone. (First Person) Don't use this one.
He has gone. (Third Person)
An example of tenses not to use as they're difficult to follow in a role play.
Imperfect
I used to go. (First Person)
He used to go. (Third Person)
