"It is because they see those of us that don't explicitly agree with them to their dogma as wrong. Speak with any Jesuit priest that proselytises through our islands, and he will tell you as much I'm sure."

'But Asato, if they were Right, then how could the very centre of the world not agree with them?'

Feeling a sudden irking to say something Suehiro simple said
"The Islands to the south of us are already under the churches control. The Island of Kyushu and the smaller surrounding Islands are already converting to this new faith. If they are indeed right then they are showing it. I doubt that our ways will survive much longer unless something is done about it"
The water spinning in Suehiro's cup as he turned it made him think more of the past and paving a way for the future.
"But they are ignorant of our ways and already many are lined up to kill any who convert to their serpent tongues. Weather they are demons and enemies of the 'gods' has yet to be determined but it is well known that they think any who do not believe in one all powerful being is a savage. So I take it it will only be a matter of time before a holy war is fought over such ideals"

*Hasshi, still rather pissed off, replied to Suehiro's comments*
'Let them fight, those who put such blind faith in such foolish beliefs as Kami deserve to die, let their Kami and gods save them i say.'
*feeling the sudden urge to calm down, Hasshi quickly finished his tea and poured himself another cup*

Asato slowly nodded, making himself yet another cup as well. "As I've stated...my own beliefs are a mingling of other faiths that come through these islands. If a war of religion were to be fought...just where would the Christians think I stood, with them if I offered my services yet kept to my varied and philosophical theology...or would walking into the Dragon's maw only ensure I was swallowed whole? The new always washes away the old, even if the old remains for centuries as a ruined shell of what it once was. There is no denying that, in time, the Christians will dominate us...one way or the other. Whether it is through trade, religion, conquest possibly, or diplomatic servitude, it will eventually happen. Maybe not in our lifetime, and maybe your theoretical conflict will mean that Christianity is suppressed, for the time. But it won't remain that way forever. Hope and promises of salvation for making oneself known through good deeds is a powerful motivator. And if a leader can turn Christ's words such that through violence one does good...then I only hope that God is as merciful in truth as they say he is..."

"Ah, but it is hard to ponder how war will happen, and believe me it will. I've heard stories of men being burned on a wooden post for deviating from the faith, even in the slightest way. They call those that are not christians worshipers of a devil! I have seen one such burning in one of my travels to Hizen, I believe it was at the port of Nagisaki. But it was not one of our people, but a man with skin as black as coal. I've heard of these men too, and how they are property. Such benevolence under god is indeed a gross overstatement. Hypocrites is what they are. Even if Hasshi disagrees with the notion of multiple gods, or rather anything that is not his religion it is hard for even him to not realize that these christians are for dominating us, not showing us salvation, but servitude."
Suehiro took one long sip of tea and then watched the flowing steamy waters go back into his cup.

'I've heard stories of this... They say it's happening in the legendary lands which Sanzang travelled 700 years ago (OOC: The Goa Inquisition) but i had no idea that it was happening here in Japan too? Dammit! *bangs fist on table* if i was in control of Hizen, i'd stop this inane practise once and for all! burning people just because they don't follow your so-called truths, this sort of thing just cannot be allowed!'
*Once again, Hasshi relaxed his fist, drank his tea down in one, and poured another cup, hoping not to lose any more face in front of his fellow tea drinkers*

Suehiro sat there for a long time. He was aware of the atrocities of the church, and their false promises. But something about them intrigued him, the way moths are attracted to the fire. He knew that if he did nothing war would ensue, even if he did something it would likely still happen. The Tea's steam rose a few feet in the air, however now it was started to be only lukewarm not the accustomed taste.
"It is true that these people are hypocrites, and the worst of their kind. I would not put it above them to buy us off for favors. Therein lies the fact that these people are not to be trusted. But it would also be utterly ignorant to say that all Christians are as such. I mean even peaceful Buddhists have gotten dragged into wars. And the Shinto blend of Buddhism is a war's facade. But the Old ways will change, they always do. But one thing is certain, we must not allow Christians to monopolize our lands, raze our fields, and burn our people on wooden polls!"
Suehiro simply fell into a hunch and stared deep into his now cool cup of tea, carrying the more distinct look of water or highly refined sake than tea.
"But this topic is not warranted here, let us discuss something more civil"

"Indeed unless you wish to cause even more grevious offense. I've been called a hypocrite amongst other offensive things. If it was not for the enviroment we have met in I would of called you both out for a duel!"
Saku declared angrily. Following this outburst he stormed from the tea room Yuki following after at a more deliberate pace.

*Hasshi smirked, 'both of us? the poor fool...' he thought to himself, before taking another sip of tea. He eagerly awaited the next topic of conversation.*

"Any man who would allow his surroundings to curb his temperament when any other place he would not of is a sign of a petty man, and a shrewd man. I doubt you are the later, but it is possible. I guess this is a lesson never taught in today's world."
Suehiro sipped a cup of tea, he then pondered something about China, and a land to the west. He had recently encountered a man many days ago claiming to be able to read what one person will become based on the year they were born, the month they were born, and the exact date of birth.
"I wonder, Sho, Asato, have you ever heard of the Chinese Zodiac? I have been curious about the subject for some time now. I have a slight curiosity of people, while I do not believe it will define the person I find it brings up avid and firm conversation. Sho, what year were you born in, according to the Chinese Calender depicting Zodiac symbols, the date in which you were born and an idea of when you during the day you were born?"
Taking another sip from his rapidly cooling tea he turned to Asato, "Can I ask yours as well?"

'The Zodiac? hmm, i haven't read much about it in a long time, not since my time in Dai Ming at least. I believe i am a Wood Dragon, why?'

Suehiro looked deep into his cup, there was no longer any steam rising from it, and the tea grew colder motioning for his cup to be refilled with hotter tea he turns to Sho.
"I am a well traveled man since matsumae castle was destroyed. I traveled the world to seek out the unknown. Not to many days ago I met with a man who told me of the chinese zodiac, so I researched the topic. There are 5 elements, Wood Metal Earth Fire Water, and the twelve zodiac animals. The Elements are attached the year of birth. While the lunar month assigns another zodiac of a smaller temperament and a time of birth which is almost as important as the year."
Feeling that he was getting engrossed in the subject he thought it wise to skip the tale of how it came into being and the differences between the centuries. It was all too confusing, he himself could only grasp it after a good week.
"Well, it was at this time that I learned the I was born in the year of the Water Monkey, and was born at the time of the Rat. This shows that I may become important in life and become a great leader, but following this as a guide of life is rather stupid to say in the least. But it does bring up interesting conversation, no?"
Suehiro's cup of tea had already begun to cool.

'Not that i have much belief in the Zodiac, what can you tell from mine, Suehiro-san?' Hasshi starting to become interested in a topic which didn't involve Europe for once.

"While for an accurate approximation I will need your time of birth. The month can be skipped but for the most accurate it would be needed as well. But I don't really care for that all that much. Approximate is fine for now."
Suehiro noticing his tea getting to a near unsatisfying temperature downed it in one gulp. he motioned for his cup to be refilled again.
"Well the dragon is one of the three first tier animals which are gifted with the ability to do great good or great evil. Wood makes you..."
Suehiro re-read the entire passage he memorized in his head. "Wood has a modifying influence and brings creativity to this sign. Questioning and liberal, Wood Dragons enjoy talking about original ideas and are open to other points of view. They are innovative, imaginative practical and appreciate art in each of its forms. Generally less pretentious than other Dragons, Wood Dragons have an ability to get along with other people. They have the essentials to build a prosperous and happy life for themselves. Still, Wood Dragons are outspoken and at times a bit pushy to quell everyone, even in the most friendly quarrel. "
"You will be imaginative, and creative. You have what you need to have a happy and fulfilling life. You are outspoken and quell any quarrel. Yet you are liberal, and questioning."
Taking a sip of the now hot tea and having the steam go into him lungs he exhaled.
"I think that will suite you"
